Y Strainers

Y strainers are named for their Y-shaped body, which houses a sieve-like mesh filter that is placed in the path of the fluid flow.

Y strainers are named for their Y-shaped body, which houses a sieve-like mesh filter that is placed in the path of the fluid flow. As the fluid flows through the strainer, the foreign matter is caught on the screen and is prevented from continuing down the pipeline. The Metal Company stock two types of Y-strainers to suit different sizes – BSP Threaded Stainless Steel Y strainers from ½” up to 2”, and Ductile iron Y strainers from 1 ½” up to 8”. The small BSP Threaded Y strainers have a fully stainless body and filter and parallel female BSP Threaded ends. The bigger Ductile Iron Y strainers have a fusion bonded epoxy coating on the body and use a stainless steel mesh. They also include a drain plug in the cap, as well as table E flanged ends. Both of the valves have a removable cap so the strainer can be removed or cleaned. Y strainers are easy to install and maintain, and they are an economical option for protecting your pipeline from damage.

FlexiFlow: Stainless Steel Braided Flexible Hose

The Metal Company stock both PTFE and stainless steel convoluted flexible braided hoses. We hold these in stock ready for dispatch over night. Because of their flexibility these hoses are great for reducing mechanical vibration, compensating for expansion and contraction or misalignment of pipework.

RapidPress Deburrer Tool | RapidPress Rundown

The RapidPress Deburrer Tool is designed for use on RapidPress tube from 15-54mm but can also be used on other stainless tubes or pipes. Watch Patrick discuss what the deburrer tool is and how to use it.

RapidPress Rotary Tube Cutter | RapidPress Rundown

The RapidPress rotary tube cutter is our preferred method of cutting tubes from 15mm – 76mm as it leaves a burr free edge on the external of the tube. Watch Patrick discuss how to use this tool.

RapidPress Expansion Bellows | RapidPress Rundown

When pipelines are heated or cooled it can cause them to expand or contract in length. If this is not compensated for it can put extreme pressure on welds or pressed joints resulting in failure. Watch Patrick discuss our RapidPress Expansion Bellows.
