Flanges are available in various sizes and standards to suit imperial tube, schedule pipe and spiral welded tube. Typical industry applications include irrigation, pumping, petrochemical, geothermal, marine and food & beverage process lines.
Our flange range includes BSP Threaded Flanges, Weld Neck Flanges, Blind Flanges, Backing Flanges, Expansion Flanges, Expansion Bellows, RapidPress Press-Fit Flanges, flange gaskets, bolt kits and more. Available in a variety of common flange standards, our range is designed to support stainless steel pipework, tube systems, process lines and installation requirements across New Zealand.
Flat Face Slip On Flanges
Our Flat Face Slip On Flanges are designed to slide over tube or pipe before being welded into place. These flanges feature a flat, smooth face on one side, and in some cases on both sides, making them suitable for a range of pipework and tube installations.
We stock Flat Face Slip On Flanges in Table E, Table D, PN10-40, PN10-16, PN16, ANSI 150 and AS4087 standards.
Raised Face Flanges
Raised Face Flanges feature a raised sealing surface on one side of the flange. The raised portion is typically around 2–3 mm, depending on the flange standard.
Raised face flanges are commonly used in higher pressure applications, as the sealing pressure is concentrated on the raised face rather than across the full flange face. The Metal Company stocks Raised Face Flanges in PN10-40, PN10-16, PN16, ANSI 150 and ANSI 300.
Blind Flanges
A Blind Flange is used to blank off the end of a flanged pipe run. Unlike other flange types, blind flanges have no internal bore, making them ideal for stopping flow or allowing for future pipework expansion.
Our Blind Flanges are available in Table E, Table D, PN10-40, PN10-16, PN16, ANSI 150 and AS4087 standards.
BSP Threaded Flanges
BSP Threaded Flanges are used for BSP threaded pipework and fittings. The thread size matches the flange size, making them a practical option for threaded stainless steel systems.
We stock BSP Threaded Flanges in Table E, PN10-40, PN10-16 and ANSI 150. Custom sizes can also be made by boring the centre of an existing Blind Flange and welding a BSP Socket into place.
Backing Flanges
Backing Flanges, also known as Floating Flanges or Loose Flanges, are used with Pipe Stub Ends or Tube Neck Rings. They are designed to make installation quicker and easier by allowing the flange to swivel and align with the bolt holes of the mating flange.
Our Backing Flanges are available in Table E, Table D, PN10-16, PN16 and ANSI 150.
Expansion Flanges
Expansion Flanges are commonly used to secure tube or pipework through wall, floor and ceiling penetrations. Their design allows for linear expansion and contraction of pipework while helping prevent the ingress of liquid or other materials.
Expansion Flanges also help keep penetrations neat and tidy by covering the entry point and reducing the risk of debris or liquid entering wall cavities. These are available to suit Imperial Tube, Schedule Pipe and RapidPress Tube.
Expansion Bellows
Our Expansion Bellows are supplied with either Stainless Steel or Electro-Galvanised Table E Flanges. Each unit features an EPDM bellow suitable for temperatures from -15°C to 115°C and pressures up to 16 bar / 232 psi.
Expansion Bellows are used to help absorb movement, vibration and expansion within pipework systems.
RapidPress Press-Fit Flanges
Press-Fit Flanges are designed for use with The Metal Company’s RapidPress system. We stock options to suit:
Our RapidPress flange range is available in Table E, PN10-40, PN10-16 and ANSI 150.
Only our Table E RapidPress options feature a pre-welded RapidPress Coupler. Other standards, including Table E Gas, use a BSP Flange to RapidPress Male Coupler connection.
Flange Gaskets
The Metal Company stocks 3.2 mm Insertion Rubber Gaskets and Nitrile Gaskets to suit our flange range.
Flange gaskets create a static seal between two flange faces, helping prevent liquids and gases from leaking from the pipework system.
Flange Bolt Kits
We also stock flange bolt kits to suit our range of stainless steel flanges, making it easier to source the compatible components needed for installation.
Our flange range includes BSP Threaded Flanges, Weld Neck Flanges, Blind Flanges, Backing Flanges, Expansion Flanges, Expansion Bellows, RapidPress Press-Fit Flanges, flange gaskets, bolt kits and more. Weld neck rings are used in conjunction with backing flanges and provide a secure connection between piping systems. The neck rings that will be discussed are to suit Dairy Tube from 1” to 8” and also Spiral Welded Tube from 8” to 12”. Watch Morgan discuss
Expansion flanges are used to close the gaps created in a wall or ceiling around a tube or pipe as it goes through. These are commonly used in food and beverage plants, coolstores or any applications where a waterproof, hygienic seal is required. Watch Vernon as he discusses expansion flanges.
