OUR RANGE OF RJT UNIONS

RJT unions which are also known as Ring Joint Type unions are used for frequently dismantled sections of pipework or hosing because of their ability to be quickly disconnected.

About

RJT Unions (Ring Joint Type) consist of an RJT Male Part, Weld Liner, Seal and a Hex Nut or Slotted Nut.

RJT Unions are used for frequently dismantled sections of pipework or hosing because of their ability to be quickly disconnected. RJT’s are often used in wineries, breweries, dairy factories and other food and beverage manufacturing applications where hygienic unions are required.

When choosing between a Slotted or Hex Nut it comes down to the preference of the Engineer and ideally should stay consistent throughout the site.

Many Unions look similar, however the stepped seal sets the RJT Union aside. The stepped seal fills the small crevice where the liner and male part of the union overlap, hence why they are beneficial for the food and beverage industry. We have multiple seals available to suit the different temperatures and components of the Union.

RJT fittings are made to suit imperial (inch) tube sizes and are usually butt welded into place using sanitary practices. The Metal Company also supplies RJT to Tri Clover adapters, RJT to BSP Adapters and RJT to RapidPress Adapters. We have also got a range of fittings, valves & sight glasses pre welded with RJT unions ready to be used.

Videos On RJT Unions

RJT C Spanners vs RJT Hex Spanners | Technical Tuesday

Our RJT Spanners come in both “C” & “Hex” type and are used with RJT Slotted and RJT Hex Nuts. Watch Morgan discuss the difference between these RJT spanners.

Our Range of Stainless Steel Hosetails

Watch Tristan discuss the difference between 2 very distinctly different barbed and swaged hosetails along with our pre-fabricated options.

Concentric vs Eccentric Reducers | Technical Tuesday

Concentric and eccentric reducers are used to join two different sizes of pipe or tube. Concentric reducers derive their name from their cone-like shape and have ends on the same axis. Whereas eccentric reducers have a straight side and a cone shaped side. Watch Morgan discuss the difference between these reducers.

What Are RJT Unions & What Pre-Fabricated Options Do We Stock?

RJT unions which are also known as Ring Joint Type unions are used for frequently dismantled sections of pipework or hosing because of their ability to be quickly disconnected. Watch Rickie-lee discuss.

How Do Inline Non-Return Valves Work? | Technical Tuesday

Inline non-return valves are a type of check valve which is spring actioned for flow control, meaning the flow can only go one way. Watch Morgan discuss how these work.

What Are RJT Adapters?

RJT Unions, also known as Ring Joint Type unions, are commonly used in the Food & Beverage industries in New Zealand. These adapters are designed to make it easier for you to use RJT Unions in different configurations, without the need for welding parts together. Watch Emma discuss our range of RJT adapters.

How To Measure RJT Fittings | Technical Tuesday

RJT Fittings are measured according to the size tube they fit. It is often mistaken that the outside diameter of the fitting is the size of the Weld Liner or Male Part, but that is not the case. Watch Huntley go through how to correctly measure your RJT Fittings.

How to Identify Between DIN, RJT, BSM & SMS Unions

Sanitary unions can be hard to identify between. Let Sinead show you how to differentiate between each of the DIN, RJT, BSM and SMS unions.
