RJT C Spanners vs RJT Hex Spanners

Our RJT Spanners come in both “C” & “Hex” type and are used with RJT Slotted and RJT Hex Nuts.

The “C” Spanner is made of stainless steel and has a hooked spanner function at either end of the tool. This one single spanner can tighten and loosen an RJT slotted nut from 1” right up to 4”.  These spanners consist of different sizes on each end with a smaller end on one side and a larger end on the other. The smaller end is suitable for RJT Slotted Nuts in sizes 1” to  2 ½”.The larger end is suitable for RJT Slotted Nuts in sizes 2” right up to 4”, Many of our customers also use the larger end for  6” Slotted Nuts but this does not fit as ideally as the smaller sizes. C spanners can be easily used by hooking the claw into the slot of the nut and applying a circular pressure in a clockwise or anticlockwise direction.

Hex spanners are made of Cast Aluminium making them durable and lightweight. The “Hex” spanner is designed to tighten and loosen RJT Hex nuts from 1” right up to 6”. The difference with the hex spanner is that every size of hex nut requires its very own spanner. These spanners work by placing the spanner over the nut and applying a circular pressure in a clockwise or any clockwise direction.

Please note that slotted or hex RJT nuts do not require a large amount of pressure to tighten. These spanners should be used to nip up the nut until firm but they don’t need to be over tightened to seal correctly.
