The Metal Company supplied a client who did a comprehensive redesign project for a fuel system on a ship. This project was on a 27metre 120-tonne ship. The goal was to enhance the flexibility and efficiency of fuel filling and transfer operations across multiple fuel tanks.
A range of key components were used, primarily from our RapidPress range, all fitted with our Extreme FKM seals for enhanced resistance and durability. The client also incorporated welded and screwed components.
RapidPress was the main system used and the fittings included 90° and 45° bends, flanges, BSP male couplers, male BSP unions, and bossed tube clamps. Complementary BSP components included 2-piece ball valves, “L” port valves, elbows, hose tails, hex nipples, camlocks, and “Y” strainers. The project replaced existing valve tie-ins and installed new ball valves, resulting in a more flexible and reliable fuel management system suited to the operational demands of the vessel.
