GLYCERIN DISTILLATION COLUMN SCRAPED SURFACE HEAT EXCHANGER
The Metal Company supplied a large quantity of stainless tubes for the construction of a tube and shell heat exchanger. The sole purpose of this is for the distillation of glycerin from Biodiesel.
The Metal Company’s sheet was rolled and welded to form the outside columns and the inside consists of many stainless tubes. 50.8mm stainless tube and fittings connect the pumps to the main columns. Operating temp is 230 degrees at 4mBar.
