On the outside, the Gate Valve and Globe Valve look similar. However on the inside, they function completely different. Both valves are supplied by The Metal Company in stainless steel grade 316, have an aluminium handwheel, a maximum pressure of 1000PSI / 69Bar and are suitable for water, oil and gas (known as W.O.G.).
The Gate Valve
The Gate Valve is a multidirectional valve (flow can be either way) and houses a vertical ‘gate’ which determines the volume of flow passing through it. They are designed as an on-off function to isolate or connect fluid, but flow can be restricted or stopped completely by winding the handwheel at different levels.
