Thread seal tape, also known as PTFE, Teflon or plumbers’ tape is commonly used in threaded piping applications. It is used to seal pipe threads and stop them seizing. Thread seal tape works as a filler. This fills the space between the threads, creating a tight seal helping to prevent leaks and seizing.

The Metal Company is the sole source in New Zealand for Blue Monster & Mill-rose thread tapes. We stock Blue Monster PTFE, Blue Monster Gas Guard and Mill-Rose Nickel Anti-seize PTFE tape.

A unique feature of Blue Monster thread tapes is the 100% elongation. Meaning that tape can be safely stretched up to double its width allowing the tape to cover the whole thread. The tape stretches into the thread gaps providing a tight, even seal.
