Common Grades of Aluminium

The Metal Company stock aluminium in a range of products including round tube, square tube, rectangle tube, angle, flat bar, round bar, channel, sheet and plates.

Aluminium tube and extrusions are typically grade 6060 with temper T5. This medium-strength general purpose aluminium has very good corrosion resistance and weldability.

Aluminium Sheet and Plate is available in two options, grade 5052 and grade 5083 and aluminium Tread Plate is available in grade 5052.

Aluminium 5052 is a general purpose grade and is used for indoor and outdoor environments. Aluminium grade 5083 is generally known as marine grade and is resistant to industrial chemicals and salt water.

Aluminium Propeller Plate is available in grade 3003. This grade is a medium-strength general purpose aluminium with good workability and resistance to corrosion.

Aluminium Free Machining bar is a Supercut20 grade. This high-strength aluminium-copper alloy is designed for machining and is not suitable for welding.
